Dieter Mammel
Born 1965 in Reutlingen, Dieter Mammel studied painting from 1986-1991 at the Academies of Art in Stuttgart and Berlin, graduating with honours.In 1991 and 1993 he worked in Italy after being awarded the “Villa Serpentara Stipendium” of the Berlin Art Academy.From 1993 to 2007 he taught painting and art history at the Media Design Academy in Berlin. He was awarded the Studio Fellowship of the Berlin Senate for Culture in 1995 and 2000, the Karl-Hofer Fellowship in 1997, and since 2007 he has been provided with a Studio Fellowship by the city of Frankfurt. Besides solo museum exhibitions at the Kunsthalle Göteborg (1999), the Kunstmuseum Bonn (2003), the Athens Pinakothek (2005), the Osthaus Museum, Hagen and Pera Museum in Istanbul (2010), he has designed stage settings for theatre and dance theatre as well as creating works of Building Art for public spaces and video installations. His work is represented by ten international galleries in Berlin, Frankfurt/Main, Hamburg, Cologne, Bremen, The Hague , Toronto, Chicago, Istanbul and London. He lives in Berlin and Frankfurt. |
